F.A.Q’s

Q. How many dogs are walked at any one time?

Unlike many dog walkers, I only walk a maximum of 3 client’s dogs at a time. This ensures that they don’t get over excited, have my full attention and are kept safe.

Q. Can you do longer walks?

Yes, I am very flexible. Please contact me to discuss your individual needs.

Q: Do you offer out of hours walking or home visits?

Yes. Please contact me to discuss your needs.

Q. How do we arrange payment?

I will invoice you every 4 weeks on the last Friday of each month. Ideally you pay by bank transfer within 7 days of the invoice.

For one-off services payment is required at the time of booking.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

For regular bookings, the cancellation period is a minimum of 24 hours’ notice otherwise we reserve the right to charge for the visit at 100% of the normal rate. A minimum period of 4 weeks is required for cancellation of a regular service, i.e.; dog walks or doggy day care. For full details please see our terms & conditions on our website.

Q. What do you do in case of emergency?

I will first call you to discuss the situation and to sort out the best plan of action, if you cannot be reached and medical attention is required I will take your pet to the vet designated by you or the nearest one to our current location. I carry a first aid kit and details of the local emergency vets at all times. I am also pet first aid trained.

Q: How do you arrange picking up and dropping off the dogs?

I will collect your dog from your house at a designated time, and then return them safely after their walk or daytime stay. If they travel in my car it will be for a short distance and with no more than two other clients’ dog, ensuring they are calm and unstressed both before and after their walk.

Q. How do you keep my keys safe?

Your key will be kept secure and away from personal information. They are only marked with your dog’s name so can’t be identified to any property. In the event of your key being lost or stolen I will advise you. Your personal information will never be sold or discussed with any 3rd parties in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Q: What happens if you, my walker, is away or unwell?

If I am on holiday I will give you at least 4 week’s notice. Should you wish I will endeavor to find you a replacement.  I will ensure they will have already met your dog so that they know their routine and are fully prepared. In the event I am unable to do a walk at very short notice due to illness, I will endeavor to find you a replacement, but cannot always guarantee this.

Q: Do you offer overnight pet sitting services?

No. I currently focus my business on dog walking and doggy day care Mon – Fri only, however, do feel free to contact me as I may be able to help or recommend someone.

Q. If I go on holiday and leave my dogs at home with a friend or neighbour just popping in to check on them, can you walk them?

Unfortunately not, it is a requirement for you to have in place a suitable environment for your pets to be cared for. It is against the law to simply leave your dogs at home without adequate supervision whilst you go out of the country.

Q. Does my dog need to have a collar and tag on when you walk them?

Yes. The Control of Dogs Order 1992 requires most dogs to have a collar with the name and address of the owner inscribed on it, or a tag/disc.

Q) Do your services cater for all dog breeds?

Yes. I take each dog on its own merit. I meet all dogs before I walk them and offer a free trial walk. Unfortunately I would decline to take any male dog over the age of 1 year that has not been castrated as in my experience other dogs can sense him as a possible threat which can lead to problems on a walk.

I also ask that your dog is fully up to date with their vaccinations and free from any infectious illnesses.

Q. What does your insurance cover?

Paws In The Park Ltd have Public liability insurance up to £2,000,000. We are fully insured to walk, transport and care for your dog as well as look after your keys.
